No Survivors

Category : Reality

No Survivors uncovers the extraordinary story surrounding one of the world’s greatest maritime mysteries. Through a spectacular opening re-enactment, the film explores the sinking of HMAS Sydney, pride of the Australian fleet. An exciting confrontation with a disguised German raider sent both ships to the depths. However, the remains of the ships were never found and not a single body was recovered and the events of the battle have been shrouded in controversy. Claims of war crimes, a Japanese submarine, the machine-gunning of survivors and a government cover up surrounded the ship’s legacy for over 50 years. This world-class documentary topped the primetime ratings on Australia’s Channel 9.
