Paying For The Piper
Category : Factual
Piper Alpha: the worst off-shore oil disaster the world has seen. When the oil rig exploded in 1988, of the 229 men onboard 167 were killed. Extraordinary footage captured as the diaster happened and dramatic images recorded by a film crew on the first rescue helicopter, make this not only one of the most devastating catastrophes, but also one of the most detailed ever recorded. Ten years later survivor Ed Punchard returns to Scotland to confront the past that still haunts him. In his quest for justice Ed travels the world exploring issues relating to corporate manslaughter, culminating in a confrontation with Occidental, the oil company responsible for the disaster.
