The Man Who Jumped Nominated for AACTA Award

Prospero Productions is proud to announce the AACTA nomination for Best Documentary Under One Hour for The Man Who Jumped, an explosive film that reveals the true story behind one of the harshest asylum seeker policies in the world.

In 2002 protests at the infamous Woomera Detention Centre for refugees erupted.  In the midst of the turmoil, a bare-chested young man climbed onto the perimeter fence, below him were coils of deadly razor wire.  Suddenly without warning… he jumped.  This image shocked the nation, made headlines around the world and came to define one of the darkest chapters of Australian history.

Earlier this year Prospero Productions won the Best Documentary Series category at the inaugural 2011 AACTA Awards with SAS: The Search for Warriors.

Well done to everyone involved!
