Company

Prospero Productions is one of Australia’s leading independent documentary production companies. We have made quality, multi-award winning documentaries and documentary series for nearly 20 years.

The Prospero signature is strong narrative-driven documentaries that appeal to a wide range of viewers.

We have a great commitment to quality film making. This commitment extends not only to providing high-quality work for film and television production staff throughout the production and post production cycle, but also to mentoring and training our staff. Prospero has an outstanding track record of introducing emerging personnel into the Western Australian film industry and from the outset, we have been a dedicated and proven proponent of knowledge-sharing.

Prospero recently delivered ‘Death of the Megabeasts’, a feature-length CGI documentary for SBS, National Geographic US and France Five as well as ‘Every Family’s Nightmare’ for SBS.

We are currently in production on two further documentaries, ‘Gallipoli’s Deep Secrets’ for National Geographic and the History Channel Australia and ‘Pirate Patrol’ for National Geographic US and Australia. Additionally we have ‘Heartbreak Science’ for SBS and BBC Scotland in post production.

Prospero maintains all the resources necessary for production of high-quality documentaries including business infrastructure, production office, computer systems, editing suites and filming equipment through our associated company, Touchstone Facilities. Prospero was the first Australian independent documentary production company to acquire a full suite of High Definition camera and facilities in 2000.
